HEC declares 157 educational institutions fake and illegal

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has recently released a comprehensive list of 157 educational institutions that are operating illegally and without proper registration. These institutions are spread across the country, with 31 of them located in Lahore being flagged as unrecognized. The HEC has issued a strong warning to potential students, advising them against enrolling in degree programs offered by these institutions.

The list comprises multiple institutions identified as fraudulent, illegal, and unlawful in Punjab, Sindh, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Federal Capital. These institutions have been functioning without proper HEC authorization, rendering their degrees and qualifications unrecognizable.

The HEC emphasizes the need to exercise utmost caution and carefully verify an educational institution’s status before enrolling. Legitimate institutions are those with charters and listings on the HEC’s official website. Enrolling in unrecognized institutions can lead to wasting time and money on degrees with no value in the job market or for further studies.
