Poll tracking: As the economy remains the number-one concern, Biden’s approval drops to 40%

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released this week, US President Joe Biden’s approval rating remained at 40% in early July, which was close to the lowest points of his presidency as economic concerns persisted throughout the nation.

Results of a three-day online survey asking respondents “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president?” inside the survey’s three percentage point margin of error, indicated a slight decline from his 41% approval rating a month earlier.

The economy was named as their main concern by 21% of respondents, followed by crime or corruption by 15%. By promoting what it refers to as the Democratic president’s “Bidenomics” policy, the White House has recently started a series of activities intended to cheer up Americans’ depressed mood towards the economy.

In comparison to their immediate predecessors, Democrats Barack Obama and Republicans George W. Bush, Biden’s approval rating is similarly low at 41%, as is that of his Republican predecessor Donald Trump at this stage of his presidency.
